Louise Turnbull is a 20-year-old violinist from Melbourne, Australia. She is currently in her first year of studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London on a full scholarship, where she studies with Dr. Robin Wilson. A 2025 graduate of the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), she studied under Sophie Rowell and Adam Chalabi, and in 2023 was awarded the St Silas Award for the best first-year recital. In 2025, Louise was selected as an Australian Chamber Orchestra Emerging Artist and has since performed extensively with the orchestra.
Louise has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, presenting concertos by Brahms, Beethoven, Dvořák, and Sibelius. In 2023, she appeared in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Ears Wide Open series, performing excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. She also recently enjoyed performing Korngold’s Violin Concerto with the Melbourne Youth Orchestra, where she was a member for over 10 years.
A passionate chamber musician on both violin and viola, Louise has presented recitals across Melbourne and regional Victoria, most recently collaborating with pianist Elyane Laussade. She has also played casually with the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and Australian Chamber Orchestra.
Internationally, Louise has participated in the Keshet Eilon Mastercourse (Spain) and the Voksenåsen Academy (Norway), studying with distinguished teachers including Ani Schnarch, Dora Schwarzberg, Peter Herresthal, and Mark Gothoni.
Louise continues to perform regularly across Australia and Europe, building an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player.
Since 2016, Hoang formed his own company and started to present his own concerts. Besides his performances here at the Recital Centre, he has presented recitals in major venues around Australia including in Sydney at City Recital Hall and Adelaide Town Hall. In concerto performances, Hoang has performed in the past with the major symphony orchestras of Melbourne, Queensland, Tasmania and Canberra as well as community orchestras including the Zelman, Geelong, South Melbourne and Heidelberg.
Hoang has travelled and performed widely around the world and studied at the Australian National Academy of Music, Manhattan School of Music, and Royal College of Music in London. His teachers throughout the years were Rita Reichman, Marc Silverman and Dmitri Alexeev.
