Kevin Tamanini
Kevin Tamanini studied piano at the Music Universities of Lübeck and Saarbrücken (Germany), earning a Master of music in piano performance in 2009. Kevin fluently speaks nine languages and has a keen interest in literature which led him to work with singers. He has participated in festivals and concerts throughout Europe and Australia collaborating with renowned artists such as Cécile Bonnet, Marianne Dellacasagrande, Rolando Villazon and Yuja Wang. Appointed repetiteur for numerous masterclasses (Jennifer Larmore, Francois Le Roux, Thomas Brandis, etc…) Kevin is a laureate of the Saarbourg International competition for young pianists (1997). His eclectic repertoire spans various composers from Rameau to Lachenmann.
Since his arrival in Australia in 2022, Kevin Tamanini has worked with different companies such as Opera Australia, Melbourne Opera, BK Opera, the Melbourne Composer’s League, Ringwood Eisteddfod and many more.
Since 2016, Hoang formed his own company and started to present his own concerts. Besides his performances here at the Recital Centre, he has presented recitals in major venues around Australia including in Sydney at City Recital Hall and Adelaide Town Hall. In concerto performances, Hoang has performed in the past with the major symphony orchestras of Melbourne, Queensland, Tasmania and Canberra as well as community orchestras including the Zelman, Geelong, South Melbourne and Heidelberg.
Hoang has travelled and performed widely around the world and studied at the Australian National Academy of Music, Manhattan School of Music, and Royal College of Music in London. His teachers throughout the years were Rita Reichman, Marc Silverman and Dmitri Alexeev.
